Description

Constructed out of heavy duty Cordura nylon and mil-spec webbing rated at 7,000 lbs. with contrast stitching, the AVED, is a victim extrication device that allows for the rapid hoist or short-haul extrication of victims.

The AVED can be used to do both double-up (in tandem w/rescuer) or single up extractions. Additionally the AVED can be utilized for hoist insertion/extraction of personnel that are not otherwise wearing hoistable harnesses.

The AVED system is lightweight band easy to use; it can be rapidly applied to the victim and because it envelopes the victim like a vest it is much safer than traditional horse collar style extraction devices.

The AVED is a one size fits most device; allowing for small to bariatric victims. This is accomplished by a multi-attachment system on the leg strap which allows you to compensate for victim size as well as allowing you to manipulate ride angle.

The AVED features an internal waist belt with a load rated cobra style buckle, oversized hoisting rings for easy attachment, a steel tr-action carabiner on the leg strap, Chemlight holding points on all sides, high visibility ANSI reflective striping and a contoured handle system that allow for handholds in 4 positions to allow for easy manipulation by the hoist operator when the device is at the door. The handle system also allows for easy attachment of a tagline to either side or the back depending on your hoisting position and aircraft.
